A Few Facts Regarding Anxiety Attack Symptoms

By: Kerris Samson, Posted on: 2008-02-24

At some stage in your life you are going to experience some form of anxiety attack symptoms. Many people will suffer from a mild form of them when they need to speak publicly to others. Just think for yourself about the last time you need to speak or make a presentation to others at work and how you felt. Even now you are finding the thought of that time is starting to make you feel a little anxious.

Are you now starting to remember just how you felt at that time. You probably felt nauseous and felt that your legs would not be able to hold you up, also you found yourself beginning to sweat. You may even felt as if you had forgotten what it is you were going to say and all you wanted to do was run away and hide. This is what doctors and other health professionals would classify as a normal everyday kind of anxiety attack.

Many people will only have anxiety attack symptoms when they are faced with something they really dislike. Sometimes it is something such as speaking in public, seeing spiders or they are required to climb a tall ladder. Most people will find that there is something specific that is going to trigger this type of anxiety attack.

In some cases the person may find that their symptoms are extremely intense and for others the symptoms can occur more frequently. But rather than just feeling anxious for example these people will begin to cry and their bodies shake uncontrollably and they may start to experience other outward signs as well.

In some cases, these people will even begin to experience the same kinds of symptoms when they see a picture of a spider in a book or magazine, on television or in a movie. These symptoms can even occur when they hear someone else talk about seeing a spider.

For some people unfortunately the level of anxiety that they feel can increase and they find themselves in a position where they have no control over the situation in which they are in. Some people who say for example have difficulty speaking in public may find that their symptoms are triggered not just by this but by other things as well. They suddenly find it difficult when speaking to others on the phone or when they even have to deal with their co-workers. These people then find it extremely difficult to cope with their careers and may over time actually find themselves in positions where their anxiety can be triggered. Over time as the symptoms begin to take more control over their lives they find themselves moving away from situations and losing contact socially with others. This in turn results in them having more problems with controlling the anxiety and so they find themselves in a downward spiral and their problems become even worse.

However, for these people there is hope as their doctor or a reputable counselor can help them. Remember anxiety attack symptoms are not a new problem and there is plenty of help available so you do not have to cope with them alone.
